Zonal Spectrophotometry of Jupiter in 1997

This page may be more interesting for professionals who is working in the study of the atmospheres of major planets. We give here a brief review of some results of recent spectrophotometric observations of Jupiter. The main task of presented research was to to make the detailed study of the molecular absorption variations on the disk of Jupiter. We used zonal spectrophotometry with 1-meter telescope and the prism spectrograph equipped by CCD-camera ST-6V. The slit of spectrograph was oriented parallel to the equator of the planet and the spectra were recorded at different position of the slit on disk as shown on the animated picture below.
